Pre-Call Sequence
A pre-call sequence is everything a prospect receives between booking a sales call and the call itself: confirmation, reminders, a setter call and proof content that prepare them to buy.
Why does the pre-call sequence matter?
Because the moment of booking is the peak of a prospect's intent, and it fades fast. Someone who found you through an ad 36 hours ago has no trust yet. If they book and then hear nothing for three days, they forget why they booked. The sequence keeps them warm and educated so they show up ready to decide.
What's in a pre-call sequence?
The version I install has three parts running at once over the 24 to 48 hours before the call:
- A setter call within 3 to 5 minutes of booking, while the prospect still has your page open.
- Email and SMS: a confirmation, then 6 to 8 emails over 72 hours, roughly 14 to 20 touches in total, informing and building proof.
- Retargeting: around 30 short-form pieces and a handful of long-form content, aiming for 15 to 20 exposures, so the prospect is surrounded by proof before they talk to you.
A confirmation page with 8 to 10 short videos of one to three minutes each, answering the questions prospects already have about timeline, process and investment, does a lot of the work too.
What does it change?
In my accounts, a proper pre-call sequence has increased show rates by up to 34% and moved close rates from around 7% to 15%. Two accounts in my case studies held calls at 91% and 92% of bookings with it in place.
FAQ
Is a reminder from my booking tool enough?
No. A bare reminder confirms the time. A pre-call sequence makes the prospect want to show up and arrive already convinced.
