Retargeting

Retargeting is showing ads to people who have already interacted with your business, such as visiting your page or booking a call, to keep them engaged until they buy.

What does retargeting do in a high-ticket funnel?

The most valuable retargeting audience isn't people who visited your page. It's people who booked a call. Between booking and the call, retargeting surrounds them with proof, so they arrive already trusting you. It's one of the three parts of the pre-call sequence I install, next to email and SMS and a setter call.

What should you retarget with?

Content that answers the objections your sales team would otherwise hear live. The version I run uses around 30 short-form pieces and a handful of long-form content, aiming for 15 to 20 exposures per prospect before the call. Case studies, explanations of how the offer works and answers to common questions all work, because each one removes a reason to hesitate.

How do you keep cold and retargeting separate?

Exclude anyone who has engaged with your content in the last 30 to 90 days from your cold campaigns. That way your cold numbers show what the funnel does with strangers, and your warm audience gets the retargeting content built for them instead of a cold-traffic ad they've already seen.

What does it change?

The pre-call sequence that includes this retargeting has increased show rates by up to 34% in my accounts. Two accounts in my case studies held 91% and 92% of booked calls.

FAQ

Is retargeting creepy?

Not when it's useful. Someone who just booked a call wants to know more about who they're about to talk to, and helpful content answers that.
