Key terms
- Ad AngleAn ad angle is the core idea or motivation an ad speaks to, such as saving time or making more money, independent of the format or the specific creative used to deliver it.
- Ad CreativeAn ad creative is one individual ad a person sees: the script, visuals and format that carry one angle to one persona. A re-edit of the same footage is not a new ad creative.
- Ad FrequencyAd frequency is the average number of times one person sees your ads over a period, so a frequency of 15 to 20 means each person saw your ads 15 to 20 times.
- Cold TrafficCold traffic is people who have never heard of you before seeing your ad. They have no trust in you yet, so the funnel has to educate and qualify them before a sales call.
- Conversions APIThe Conversions API (CAPI) is Meta's server-side connection for sending conversion events from your CRM to Meta, so the algorithm optimizes toward the event you choose, such as a qualified booked call.
- Cost Per ClickCost per click (CPC) is the average amount you pay Meta each time someone clicks your ad. On a high-ticket call funnel it's an input to the funnel math, not a target, because a click proves nothing about the buyer.
- Creative TestingCreative testing is the structured process of launching new ad angles and creatives with a fixed budget and judging them against a target cost per result, to find the ads worth scaling.
- Horizontal ScalingHorizontal scaling means growing Meta ad spend by launching a proven ad angle in new formats and new ads, instead of only raising the budget on the ad set that is already working.
- Meta AndromedaMeta Andromeda is the ad retrieval system Meta began rolling out in mid-2025. It decides which ads to show each person and rewards accounts that supply a wide variety of creative ideas.
- Meta PixelThe Meta pixel is a piece of code on your website that reports what visitors do, such as loading a page or submitting a form, back to Meta so it can optimize and measure your ads.
- RetargetingRetargeting is showing ads to people who have already interacted with your business, such as visiting your page or booking a call, to keep them engaged until they buy.
- Scaling Ad SpendScaling ad spend means raising the budget on campaigns that are hitting their target cost per result, without breaking the performance that justified the increase.
- Warm TrafficWarm traffic is people who already know your business, such as followers, email subscribers and past leads, so they arrive with some trust before seeing your offer.
